Production/Works Manager 

 We are looking for a Structural and Architectural Metalwork Production Manager to manage organization of our main factory Based on the Bowthorpe Industrial Estate.

 The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include delivering every project on time within budget and scope. Ideally, you will have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis.

 The successful candidate needs to be skilled at getting the best out of the people and projects that they oversee. You will thrive when planning Production and working with Project teams.

 The role requires minimal travel as 95% of the role will be Norwich based. There may be some London meetings and on occasion may require you to stay over-night.

 You will be working within an existing team being led by the Managing Director and must have great attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

 Requirements

 Proven experience as a production manager, preferably with a background from the construction industry “Structural and Architectural Metalwork”

  4. Solid technical background and Comfortable with numbers and technology
  5. Great attention to detail
  6. Well-organized and reliable
  7. Able to work with minimum supervision within the senior management team
  8. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  9. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

 Duties

 Maintain the central production schedule with all of AMC’s inhouse/external work on it and use this in the production meetings to track progress and dates items are required

  1. Tracking all material PO’s raised and record all items sent to check against delivery dates, check that the quantities are correct and use this to update the schedules accordingly.
  2. Liaise with Operation/Contracts manager with weekly installation sheets so I can add this to the schedule.
  3. Oversee daily and weekly production in both manufacture & Assembly workshops.
  4. Attend handover and design meetings.
  5. Track workshop hours and advise of any shortfalls.
  6. Plan resources set working hours based on the above
  7. Chair production meetings.
  8. Ensure Purchase orders are called off to suppliers in a timely manner.
  9. Chase suppliers for delivery dates to ensure production is maintained.
  10. Ensure employees are working safely and adhering to our risk assessments and procedures.
  11. Record all deliveries on the spreadsheet.
  12. Plan transport requirements for deliveries to sites.
  13. Foster relationships with Clients and key vendors i.e. subcontractors, architects etc. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  14. Ensure that all manufactured works are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  15. Developing production scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  16. Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  17. Develop a detailed production plan to track progress.
  18. Measure production performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  19. Report and escalate to management as needed.
  20. Perform risk management to minimize production risks.
  21. Create and maintain comprehensive production documentation.

 Reporting to: Managing Director (Kris Barnes)

 Start date:  ASAP

 Probation period: 6 months

 Normal hours: 8.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday 

 20 Days Holiday + National and Bank Holidays

 Salary dependent on experience
